Birds

I enjoy walking in a meadow or woods and noticing the familiar (and often enchanting) tunes of songbirds...It's always been more difficult to get an actual glimpse of them. When I am working on a bird drawing it feels like a kind of meditation on detail. I am aware of the delicate, intricate feather patterns and the beautiful range of colors that birds display. I've found it's best to use colored pencils for this level of detail.
